Vanessa Tiradentes represents a wide range of businesses and individuals in all phases of commercial litigation in both federal and state courts. Her experience includes handling allegations of breach of fiduciary duty, business divorces, contract disputes and indemnification claims, among other commercial matters. In addition, Vanessa assists clients with construction matters, including contractor disputes, breach of warranty claims, and insurance coverage issues.
Admitted to practice in four states, Vanessa spent several years representing clients in Delaware’s state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels. She has been involved in matters involving corporate, commercial, intellectual property and other business-related issues. In 2016, she was recognized by SuperLawyers magazine as a Delaware Rising Star in business litigation, an Illinois Rising Star from 2018 to 2023, and a SuperLawyer in 2024. In 2020, Vanessa received the Leadership Award from the Coalition of Women's Initiative in Law. She has been recognized by Crain's Chicago Business as a Notable Minority in Accounting, Consulting and Law in 2020, a "Notable Rising Star in Law" for 2021, and as a “Notable Women in Law” for 2024.
Vanessa has been an active member of several bar associations. She is particularly involved with Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, where she has held many leadership positions. Currently, Vanessa serves as Co-Chair of the Business Law Section’s Diversity Clerkship Program. She has also been Deputy General Counsel and an affiliate representative of the Hispanic National Bar Association, as well as President of the Delaware Hispanic Bar Association.
Outside of her work at Gould & Ratner, Vanessa is a Harvard College Alumni Interviewer. She also served as Secretary (2020-2021) and Co-President (2021-2023) of the Harvard Latino Alumni Alliance, which organization received the 2022 Harvard Alumni Association Clubs and SIGs Outstanding Alumni Community Award during her tenure as Co-President.
Vanessa earned her JD from Hofstra University School of Law, where she was Managing Editor of Production for the Journal of International Business and Law. In 2008, she clerked for then-Vice Chancellor Donald F. Parsons, Jr. of the Delaware Court of Chancery through the ABA Business Law Section Diversity Clerkship Program. She received her BA, cum laude, in Latin American Studies from Harvard University.
