Ken Koehn’s ability to inspire and lead helps set a foundational tone for Gould & Ratner’s culture and operational efficiency. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, he leads the firm’s day-to-day operations, in addition to focusing on the future by managing the firm’s strategic planning and succession planning initiatives. Ken works closely with the Management Committee, Partners and C-Suite to develop and execute the firm’s vision as a premier mid-sized, Chicago-based law firm. He thrives in thinking about the big picture, considering how all the pieces of the puzzle come together, and ensuring that the firm operates as a cohesive, high-functioning organization. Ken transitioned into his role as COO after serving as Gould & Ratner’s Chief Financial Officer for seven years. His experience includes over 25 years in senior financial executive positions for Chicago law firms and other firms in the professional services and trading industries.

Ken is a Certified Legal Manager, a Certified Public Accountant with a CGMA designation and a Certified Management Accountant.

Ken currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), after previously serving as Chapter President, Past President, President-Elect, Vice President-Elect and Treasurer. At the ALA International level, Ken is a member of the Association’s Board of Directors, after previously serving four years on the Certified Legal Manager Certification Committee, including two years as committee chair. He also served two years on the Association’s Nominating Committee. Ken is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
