David Arnburg, a partner in Gould & Ratner’s Real Estate Practice, celebrated his retirement from the firm at the end of 2024 after more than 47 years.
Dave started at Gould & Ratner in 1977 as an Associate and was promoted to Partner several years later. During his career, he advised and steered clients in closing deals for the acquisition, financing, sale, lease and management of many of Chicago’s most renowned and defining office buildings. Dave was a leader in several real estate associations and served on the tax committee of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago (BOMA) and as the 2017 president of the century-old Realty Club of Chicago.
While Dave spent most of his time as a talented real estate lawyer, he was also valued as a sophisticated employee benefits and executive compensation attorney assisting in both the tax and corporate practices.
“Dave’s warm personality and sense of humor have made him a cherished friend to many of us at the firm,” said Joe Marzo, chair of Gould & Ratner’s Real Estate Practice. “He was the embodiment of a multidisciplinary lawyer, who was also a terrific teacher and mentor to so many of his colleagues.”
Dave earned his law degree from the George Washington University Law School. He graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Engineering Operations.
We congratulate Dave on this exciting milestone and wish him the best!
