Gould & Ratner is pleased to announce that Patrick Johnson joins the firm as an associate attorney in the Construction Practice.
Johnson focuses his practice on construction transactions and litigation matters. He provides strategic counsel to a wide range of owners, developers, general contractors and subcontractors pertaining to construction contract drafting and negotiation, project delivery methods, and litigation and claim resolution.
“The addition of Pat’s legal experience will help us maintain and expand our Construction Practice. His background in engineering provides further expertise to our team in both the transactional and claims review areas,” said Richard S. Reizen, chair of Gould & Ratner’s Construction Practice.
Before joining Gould & Ratner, Johnson was an associate at another large law firm, focusing on construction matters. Additionally, Johnson worked as an attorney for a large Chicago-based engineering firm, where he had been previously employed as a structural engineer for more than five years.
As an engineer, Johnson has worked on commercial and power generation projects both in the United States and in Dubai, and he is currently a licensed professional engineer in Illinois. He is also an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Chicago Bar Association.
Johnson earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. He received his bachelor's degree and master's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
