Senior Associate

Yitian Cai advises clients through complex transactions at pivotal moments in their growth and evolution. He approaches transactions as both a deal lawyer and a trusted business advisor, working closely with clients to understand their objectives and navigate legal and operational considerations while maintaining focus on practical business outcomes.

Yitian represents strategic buyers and sellers, private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and emerging businesses in a broad range of domestic and cross-border matters, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, early-stage financings, reorganizations, and corporate governance matters. His experience spans sectors including industrial manufacturing, food and beverage, technology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, and robotics.

In addition to leading transactions, he has experience serving in fractional counsel roles, embedding with companies to support legal operations, manage risk, and guide strategic decision-making.

Yitian has particular interest in the regulatory issues that increasingly shape modern transactions. He has knowledge in areas such as antitrust review, foreign investment regulations, and cross-border data transfer considerations, including the emerging impact of artificial intelligence on global business operations. He also is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US).

Committed to serving his community, Yitian has volunteered with Legal Aid Chicago's McCutcheon Legal Clinic and remains active with the Chinese American Service League Legal Clinic.
