Rob Taylor is a seasoned attorney at Gould & Ratner, where he brings extensive expertise in real estate, corporate, and business law. With a comprehensive practice, Rob advises clients on a wide array of matters including real estate transactions, lending transactions, leasing transactions, contract disputes, general business counseling, mergers and acquisitions, and devising ownership and investment structures.
Rob’s real estate practice encompasses representing landlords and tenants in retail, office, and industrial leasing matters. He has significant experience managing transactions for owners, investors, lenders, and developers involved in real estate finance, property acquisitions and dispositions, equity investment, leasing, and development. His work includes structuring, negotiating, and documenting commercial real estate and asset-based credit facilities.
In addition to his real estate practice, Rob works closely with utility, data center, and telecommunications companies, advising on regulatory compliance, infrastructure development and strategic partnerships. Rob’s direct experience includes work on, fiber leasing and indefeasible rights of use agreements, master service agreements, maintenance and repair agreements, resource sharing agreements, design-build agreements, easements, rights of way, tower agreements, duct/conduit use agreements, secured and unsecured commercial loans and advising clients on raising funds to meet longer-term needs and working capital needs through bank financing, mezzanine financing and bond financing. His broad expertise allows him to provide valuable insights and solutions tailored to the unique needs of these industries.
Rob often serves as outside general counsel for his clients, leading transactional matters and managing commercial litigation, employment, and tax issues by collaborating with subject matter experts within the firm. His holistic approach ensures that clients receive comprehensive legal support across various aspects of their business operations.
Rob also advises clients on lending issues such as mezzanine credit facilities, subordinated credit facilities, inter-creditor issues associated with multi-lender transactions, loan syndications, participations and workouts.
Rob earned his J.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
